Dr. John S. Poser is a 3rd generation physician who is fully trained in general surgery and plastic surgery, being Board Certified in the later. Dr. Poser graduated and was trained in plastic surgery at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts under a well-known Plastic Surgeon Dr. Gasbar Anastasi; there he received special training, not only in trauma and reconstructive surgery, but also cosmetic surgery. Dr. Poser has been practicing plastic surgery in Gainesville, Florida since 1984 and personally holds active staff privileges as an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Florida, as well as being on active staff at North Florida Regional Hospital. Dr. Poser has also been Chief of Surgery at the University of Florida Medical center at AGH.

Dr. Poser is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of their society, The American Society of Plastic Surgery. He is a member of the International Society of Plastic Surgery and the Southeastern Society of Plastic Surgery, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Poser belongs to the Florida Medical Society of Alachua County and well be the President of the Board of the Tri-County Medical Society
